Tiggly Submarine: Preschool ABC Game by Tiggly

This is the perfect combination of simple cause and effect and introduction of words letters and letter sounds. Wherever you point on the screen your little submarine with swim. As you explore the ocean, you tap on doors to words with emphasis on vowels at the beginning and the middle of words. Occupational Therapists can also work on finger isolation and fine motor accuracy.

Tiggly Chef Subtraction: 1st Grade Math Game by Tiggly
Normally $2.99
Tiggly Chef works on K-1st grade math subtraction skills with manipulatives and cute animations. It's hands-on the whole time and progresses the student slowly. What I don't like about it is you can't start later in the game, you have to start from the beginning, so it's a little hard for me to know all the skills it's teaching.

Breathing Zone: Guided Breathing for Mindfulness by Breathing Zone
Normally $3.99
Having individuals figure out their own strategies for when they are stressed is a good idea, especially for teens getting ready for final exams! This app just works on sampling breathing exercises. For those who are working on the Zones of Regulation with younger students, you can also use this as a choice for calming to get out of the red and yellow zone!

Sushi Monster by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
This app has been around awhile, but it still is a favorite of many students. This app works on addition and multiplication facts and is made by the same folks who make the Fast Math curriculum. Your sushi monster is surrounding by a conveyer belt of sushi like an all you can eat restaurant. Each plate has numbers that you have to match up to make a problem that is plastered on the chest of your sushi monster. If you get your math problem set up correctly, your sushi monster gets to eat! If you get it wrong, it gets ticked off and sends your plates back. Like many math apps that are game based, there are trophies and stars to collect as you do your problems. Like many games, I wish you could pick problem sets.
