I woke up this morning thrilled it was Friday, even though it was raining like crazy in St. Louis! It’s never fun getting my feet soaked every time I stepped out the door. Then there was the traffic….

This is a really cute, Mario-style math game that works on addition, subtraction, or a mix of the two. There are four levels of difficulty and over 800 questions! You move along, bouncing your guy up to catch coins and do math problems in between. The problems are listed left to right. It includes a pop up number line or 100 square for reference (the number line and hundreds square are not interactive sadly). However, the part I like the most is you can choose formats on how you answer, either multiple choice or keypad mode. Most of the apps out there are multiple choice, so I really liked that you could do this differentiation for kids on the fly. For the bonus feature: those coins you collect actually have a fun use. When you are done, you can go into “alien burps”. Which means for every three coins you earned, you can tap on the monster and make it burp! Hilarious!

This is a text to speech reader that is able to read aloud your text searchable PDFs, ePub Books and typed text. You can bring in text from dropbox, google drive, wikipedia, gutenberg library or get a typing window. Now most iPads already comes with built in text to speech, you just turn it on in the iPad settings. The benefit of trying this app is the "text only" mode where it will just show text and you can select the Dyslexie font. (a font specifically made for people with Dyslexia)
