Cricket Kids: Opposites by SlimCricket

This is a cute way to learn vocabulary in a visual scene. You tap on the item that the scene is highlighting and it then does the opposite for you, labeling each (big/little, asleep/awake, etc.). For occupational therapists, it works on figure ground, visual discrimination, and finger isolation.

This is a good math/science app for teachers who are integrating technology in a whole classroom setting, it is not something you would do at home as independent practice. The app works on learning algorithms in an experiential way. It involves following a series of steps and then applying what the student knows. Kids can use the app in a collaborative way with peers. It's designed for kids ages 7-11, but I think it would be best with 4-5th graders. I haven't seen an app like this before, so if this is a unit you are working on, I would check it out.
