Early Childhood
Color Find - Autism Series by WebTEam Corporation (normally $0.99)Color Find shows each flash card individually identifying the color and then the next stage is for the student to select the correct color from a field of four. It was designed for ABA therapists and uses its prompt wording. I thought the reward animations were a little creepy, but you can't argue with free.

Elementary
This Common Core aligned app is designed to do a video tutorial on how to use math strategies for multiplication (array and multiplication table). Then you get a chance to use the strategies for problems. It comes with printable or PDF worksheets you can email. This spelling app is like many, the student is given a word and they have to drag the scrambled letters to the spaces. The nice thing about this app is that it is leveled and you can choose between letter names and letter sounds. Lower levels integrates syllables and is more matching and letters can go in at any order. As you go up levels, less support is provided and you must put letters in the correct order. Includes a mini-game as a reward. Comes with categories: basics (numbers, colors, shapes), creatures, around the house and food. The downside is you cannot add your own word lists. This app works on addition by circling sheep as the walk around in the grass. A fun way for students to use manipulatives for addition, besides counting objects on a screen. For Occupational Therapists: Integrate math into visual discrimination and fine motor (finger isolation, dragging, pre-writing strokes).

Middle-High School
Use your iPad camera or existing photos in your camera roll to create comics. You can share with social media (Facebook, Twitter), email or save as a PDF. It's easy to put photos in and add captions and templates, but I had an issue when I was moving the photo, that if I moved it out of the photo box, it would disappear. My only option was to hit "restart". Photos you take within the app will not be saved in your photo roll.

A to-do list with reminders. It has the option to sync with Google tasks and integrates with Google Calendar. Other features include password protection, import from reminders app and text message via iMessage. What is also cool is if you have a large project but smaller deadlines associated with it, you can set separate reminders for these sub-tasks. This would be great for a high school or college student with multiple deadlines. Location based alerts is also available but it is only for the iPhone or iPads with mobile data plans.
